Last weekend we went to the Efteling theme park, the first one (of many I presume) of 2016. It’s not just any old amusement park, it’s one of the most beautiful theme parks in the world. The park is based around fairytales and other magical things. Last year they placed their first (hopefully not last) B&M roller coaster, a dive coaster to be exact named Baron 1898. The ride has a story around it concerning a duke that is looking for his wealth in the mining industry. He’s looking for gold but that doesn’t end well for him because of the White Women that send you plummeting into the mines (making a nice 37,5 meter free fall/drop). It’s a really nice ride and I enjoyed the whole experience. We didn’t have to wait in line for long which is always a bonus. I only rode on 2 dive coasters (Krake at Heidepark, Germany) before and they’re both awesome, on to the next!
This picture was taken a year before the ride was opened, peeking at the construction site to get some hints of the new roller coaster. Didn’t really see much tho haha!
The dive coaster itself :
This is a dark ride coaster themed around, you guessed it, birds.
The duelling wooden coaster; Joris en de Draak. Loved this one.
De vliegende Hollander, a dark ride, coaster and water ride all in one.
And the oldest one of them all, De Python, their first roller coaster at the park.
We can’t forget their beautiful dark ride, Droomvlucht which translates to Dream Flight. It is such a nice ride, you just fly by these beautiful sceneries with magical creatures.
The Efteling theme park was a really nice first park to go to this year, on to the next 🙂 !
