GRAND CANYON – A ROAD TRIP

When we were in Vegas on vacation we had a few things planned and when you’re so close to the Grand Canyon you have to go see it.

Grand Canyon.

We decided to do a day trip to the Canyon that included a short stopover at the Hoover Dam.

We woke up very early, went to the meeting point, which was at a hotel (go figure). We were a bit early so we went inside and checked out the casino, and won 12 dollars. I guess the early bird really does catch the worm haha! After doing a head count on the bus we were set and got on the road towards the Hoover dam. One thing we didn’t really think about is that we were going to be on that bus for 6 hours, and 6 hours back. It was definitely worth it tho but we weren’t prepared for that and the bus had really narrow seating (it was good for catching up on some sleep). After a short trip we arrived at the Hoover Dam, our bus driver told us some facts about the Hoover Dam and let us out to stretch our legs and have a look around.

After a few stops (at a Mc Donalds and on route 66) we finally arrived at the park entrance. We couldn’t wait to get of that bus and see the most impressive view we would ever see in our lives. And that we did, we got our lunch and went to have the best view for any lunch we’ll ever have.

We had an hour of free time to walk around at the south rim and we made the most of it. It really makes you feel very small and the view is almost surreal. It looks like a painting, a very beautiful and detailed painting, you almost have no depth perception when you look into the distance. This was probably one of the best days of our trip.

The Grand Canyon is a real must see!
