When we travelled to New York last year we went to two concerts, Ed Sheeran and Mumford and Sons. It was the first time ever seeing these artists perform live and I’m happy it was in New York, I’ll maybe go into detail in another blog post about Ed Sheeran because today it’s all about Mumford and Sons. The concert took place at Coney Island, MCU park. I’ve never been to this kind of location for a concert before, in Belgium most concerts are held indoors. It was such an awesome place and everyone had enough room to stand (which is important if you want to dance to the music). It was an amazing show, I believe it was one of their first shows of the tour and now in Antwerp we got to be at one of the last shows from the tour and the sunset over the stage didn’t hurt either.
In New York the audience was good but in Antwerp people went insane. With their most known songs everyone was singing their hearts out, I had goosebumps most of the time because of the 20 thousand people singing along. They also moved to the centre of arena during the show in Antwerp to sing a few acoustic songs, they passed right before me, a big fangirl moment right there. I must admit, I had to hold in the tears when they sang Timshel (my favorite song) right in front of my nose. They sound so good live too, which is very important if you pay to see them live ha!
So if I had to compare the two shows; New York had the best location and Antwerp had the best crowd, both with the amazing artists.
If you ever have the chance to go see them live, do it!
