We were debating on going to the 1975 Belgium concert this week. After the attacks took place last week we weren’t sure if we were going to Brussels for the show, in the end we decided we’d go. I’m so glad we did because we had so much fun at the concert. I think a lot of people didn’t show up because it wasn’t crowded and everyone had space to stand/sit, actually a really nice atmosphere. I’ve seen them perform before at Sziget Festival but didn’t really knew much of there music back then and now I’m a real fan so it was way different. It was a nice, almost intimate, concert and their set up was nice. Sometimes you hear artists perform live and you’re thinking wow, they sound better on the cd. Not the case here. The lead singer, Matty, spoke a few words about living now and how ‘proud’ he was for us showing up at the The 1975 Belgium concert and not giving in to fear. They also played a song completely for us, what I mean by that is that no-one was using their phone to film or take pictures, 100% of our attention was dedicated to them and the music surrounding the room. A really nice show and evening. Happy we didn’t let fear bring us down that night.
You can watch some footage of the concert here. (Not mine, all credits go to the owner!)
